Stanford is 8 miles south of Lancaster on US 27, close enough that Whitis Contracting treats it as home ground. We build custom homes on Lincoln County land, add on to older houses in town, and remodel kitchens, bathrooms and whole homes. We are a family-owned builder with more than 50 years in the family, and our own crews do the work.
Stanford started as Logan's Fort, founded by Benjamin Logan in 1775, and it is the second-oldest city in Kentucky. That history shows in the housing. In town, a lot of our work is additions and remodels on older homes: opening up floor plans, adding a primary suite, or bringing a dated kitchen up to how families live now, while keeping the character of the house. Outside town, Lincoln County farm ground is where new custom homes and barndominiums go up, often with a pole barn or shop alongside.

Building permits for Stanford and Lincoln County run through the Lincoln County building inspector, and the City of Stanford has its own Planning and Zoning Board for property inside city limits. We confirm which approvals your lot needs before we give you a price, so there are no surprises once the job starts.
Lots outside city sewer need a septic system permitted through the local health department. In Kentucky that starts with a site and soil evaluation, then a certified installer puts the system in. We plan the house placement around the septic field from the start.
